8. Public Procurement of Innovation

Innovation is essential for finding the most sustainable and optimal solutions to many public needs and objectives. In developing sectors the government is an important player, or even the sole purchaser, public procurement of innovation instruments are increasingly applied. This enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of public policy, government spending and government services. How to encourage innovation in the procurement process? After an energizer Marieke van Putten gives a short introduction on Public Procurement of Innovation. Marene gives an overview of the project "renovation of the Erasmus Medical Center" and the importance of the procurement team for innovation procurement. Bob will give insight in how creativity influenced the opportunities for innovations in building process. Participants are encouraged to express their ideas in an interactive way.
